Dear AVS members,

We wish to advise all AVS members that we will be holding a Special General Meeting (SGM) online on the 9th June 2026 at 10:00am (Melb time).

We are holding this SGM to vote on two special resolutions to be passed:

(i) we would like to accept the declaration of intent of the current AVS Committee of Management (CoM) officers (except President and Vice President) and members to step down at the upcoming AVS13 2026 AGM meeting, and

(ii) that a new election be held during the AVS13 2026 AGM, with members and officers (including President and Vice President) be elected for 2-year terms from the date of the AVS13 2026 AGM.

We are requesting these special resolutions to realign the AVS CoM nomination and election process with our face-to-face biennial meeting, that was disrupted over the COVID-19 pandemic. The SGM on June 9th will be held online over Zoom with a poll function and should take no longer than 15-30 mins.

If you are unable to make the meeting our constitution allows proxies, which must be in writing and signed (attached) and received no later than 24 hrs before the meeting.
